Blue Angels landing locally tomorrow?

My mom saw on the local news that the Blue Angels are landing at mine truly, KMTN, tomorrow, December 1st, at 12:00 noon. According to the report, they’ll be practicing out of there for a few days.

She swears that this was real and not a dream, but I’m skeptical because I can’t find anything scheduled by the angels, or even the news report on the news channel’s website. And she’s getting up in age.

So, am I skeptical? Yes. Am I still leaving school early to make sure I see them if this is true? You betcha.

Taking off on runway 15 at Martin State Airport KMTN. Shot from the Terminal building / FBO. Thanks mom!
@jheath, When I bought approach plates for the first time, I did that approach on flight sim over and over and over again. I really like those kind. In reality though, when it’s not VFR, they just use the loc 15 or LDA 33. Thanks for your input all of the time! It’s nice having someone to talk to about this stuff.

Flew to Ocean City and back this afternoon

Well, I didn’t do any flying, my dad did. He wasn’t comfortable flying from the right seat in a 172 after stepping out of the left seat of a 737, haha. So I didn’t even bother with the flight controls, it was all straight-and-level anyway. Instead, I got some really good experience in dead reckoning in SHIT visibility, and VOR triangulation. Hint: VOR’s are NOT perfectly accurate like they are in flight sim. At some points, they were as much as 15deg off from maybe 20 miles and 3000’!!! VERY good experience indeed.

Being outside however was not all fun and games. 98+ degrees on the ramp at MTN, around 90 on the ramp and OXB, and the boardwalk.. Hot as hell. Add 15 degrees to all of the in-vehicle temps. I am still wet. I do not smell good.
